Hard Disk Failure - How do I know the disk has failed ?
Answer:
Hard disk failure is typically indicated by one or more of the following symptoms :
- Hard disk is not accessible or not recognized by BIOS
- Hard disk is making clicking noises
- Hard disk is deadly silent
- BIOS could detect the disk but the OS could not mount the physical disk volume (normally associated with firmware damage)
- BIOS detects garbage characters which is not the usual disk model displayed
